A Dalit woman was beaten to death at Jagatpur, Majhaura VDC-3 in Siraha district on Thursday. Ritadevi Ram (23) was found hanging in her home on Thursday evening following a domestic violence against her. Ritadevi was thrashed by her brother-in-law Bhoril Ram on Thursday noon over a domestic dispute.

Hours after, she was found hanging. According to Uma Prasad
Chaturvedi, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Area Police Office, Lahan,
the body has been brought to a local hospital for the postmortem. All family
members of Bhoril Ram have been absconding after the incident. Investigation
into the case is underway, added Chaturvedi. The deceased's husband is in Qatar
for employment. She is survived by two children. The deceased's parental family
has filed an FIR with police. Investigation over the incident is underway,
police said.
